ABOUT

Known for its breathtaking views, West Slope is set against stunning scenery, the Narrows Bridges, Day Island, the sparkling Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountain range, captivating from sunrise to dramatic sunset. Local favorites include Titlow Park, Narrows Marina and the waterfront restaurant Boathouse 19. This is a much sought after enclave for hillside mid-century modern architecture & proximity to the Sound. 

EVENTS

Sound To Narrows

At almost 50 years running, the Sound to Narrows 1/2 marathon is a must for local runners. The scenic route runs from Point Defiance to West Tacoma and is perfect for both runners and walkers.

CULTURE

Sunset Watching

University Place has some of the best grocery store options in the area. With Whole Foods, Harbor Greens, and Trader Joes all within a mile of one another, residents are provided a convenient and fresh set of options for their weekend trip to the supermarket.

The West Slope is known for its stunning views of the Puget Sound. The neighborhoods are carefully cut into the hillside and offer lovely light and privacy. Many of the homes were built in the 50s, 60s, and 70,s; featuring geometric layouts with open concept floor plans.

Seafood / Pub Fare

The West Slope is home to several great dining options including Boathouse 19, Narrows Brewing and Taproom, Steamers, and The Beach Tavern. We recommend going to the Beach Tavern during a WSU Cougars game and enjoying a tasty beverage with some very good bar food.

THE CLOVER LEAF

A Crispy Slice of Heaven

The Clover Leaf features a bar setting but they are known for their unique, cast iron cooked pizzas. They use hand-pressed, day old shells to for a pizza crust that is both crispy and soft at the same time. We recommend stopping by here with friends for a Seahawks game, or taking your pie to-go.
